Govt. should punish corrupt employees by imposing fines
Expressing concern over the rampant corruption in government offices, Lok Satta founder president Jayaprakash Narayan has urged the State and Central Governments to enact a law of Right to Service Guarantee in all the government offices.
Mr Narayan was in Karimnagar to participate in Karimnagar dairy Sankranthi Sambaralu on Thursday.
Talking to newsmen here, he said that people of the country should have right to get their work done in the government offices without any role of corruption. In order to ensure transparency, accountability and to check corruption among the government employees, the Lok Satta had prepared an Act of Right to Service Guarantee, he stated.
He urged the State and Central Governments to enact law and ensure that the citizens have the right to services guarantee in the government offices. The government should punish the employees by imposing heavy fines if they do not do the work of the citizens as per the new Act, he added.
Welcoming Prime Minister’s Swach Bharath, he said that the programme should not be confined to publicity. It should be taken up with true spirit by allocating funds and resources to all the local bodies, he maintained.
