Letter to Registrar Offices to enquire about Property details of Umashankar.IAS and his relatives(Vigilance Enquiry Proceedings)

"Marathon Fighter". It is how, the DailyPioneer magazine projects Umashankar.IAS, in their Aug15th fullpage article. This Honest IAS officer being harassed (Vigilance enquiry, Indirectly stopping promotion, denying car loan, False propaganda on his community, Suspension etc.,) in Tamilnadu for his bold exposure of Corruption and misuse of powers (worth of Rs.1000cr) by TN-Chief Minister's family.

Makkal Sakthi Katchi (Tamilnadu unit of Lok Satta) organized 2 protests (June 20, July25) to condemn the vindictive actions of TN govt and to extend our solidarity to an Honest officer. Police denied permission for both the protests.

Hence on 12th August, 2010 we organized a public gathering at Kerala Samajam Hall, Chennai, to condemn the wrongful suspension of Mr. C. Umasankar. We had good public response (500+ people particiapted) and Media Attention (Dinamani, Dinamalar, Hindu, Indian Express coverage). Nearly 20 non-profit organisations participated. Communist Party's (CPI) Senior leader Nallakannu Ayya, CPM's State Secretary G.Ramakrishnan, A.S.Kumar(CPI-ML), TamilAruvi Manian, Sivakami.IAS(Rtd), Devasahayam.IAS(Rtd), Mafoi Pandiarajan participated and spoke at this event. MEDIA NEWS ON AUG13th:

The cell number and address of the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu displayed in the Hall, instigated the public to send sms and postcards to the government requesting needy action.

Public indignation and sensitized gathering of the public demanding rectifying action, sent a strong message to the government.
Fighting against Corruption, Family politics, Undemocratic political culture is a long journey... We have just started. Any form of support to our cause would be a great source of encouragement. Raise of public awareness and support would pressurize the government to take remedial measures. We are planning our next step campaign to demonstrate public support to honesty, and hence any valued suggestions and contributions are welcome. Thanks to all the friends who supported for making it happen.
